Some guys over at instructure.com crashed a BbWorld party handing out t-shirts about cheating on Blackboard... 

Blackboard CEO, Michael Chasen, who was there at the party, actually got one and wore it around.

We will listen.

You might notice we have integrated some social networking widgets (twitter, facebook, linkedin, google+) into our blog with hopes that you guys will give us suggestions! Some questions we might ask,

  1. Where are great places to eat in New Orleans?
  2. What's fun to do in New Orleans?
  3. What would you ask (or say) to the key note speaker?

Then we pick a suggestion and blog about what happened.

And lastly, we offer a fresh perspective. But how?

Numero uno, because we are students at the University of Arkansas we realize the importance of pedagogy.  

Numoro dos, we're not afraid to try new things or accept challenges. And then tell you about it. Even if we fail.

Numero tres, Kelt also works at UALR as a systems specialist and brings value to the university by providing technical expertise to support students, faculty and staff. Thus, he understands the fundamental assets and pitfalls technology brings to education.

We are worthy of being on the VIP Blackboard Bloggers list and look forward to an exciting BbWorld 2012, where we will network with peers and tour the city of New Orleans!

Read about our adventure!

Find out what happens when a loony developer and his (8 month) pregnant wife set out on a journey to New Orleans to find the world's greatest gumbo. No doubt... there will be adventure (and milkshakes and dancing). 

Here are some other things we might blog about...

Will Kelt's presentation at DevCon go smoothly? Will Kitty sneak into events for free food? What shade of red will Kelt's face be when he accepts the Golden Catalyst Award for Innovative Development? Will there be any alligators or Jazz music? Will they meet any exciting people from other countries and keynote speakers? What lies ahead for this week long extravaganza?

Using images with verbiage
A picture is worth a 1000 words. We might miss out on BbWorld if we are too busy blogging about it. So by using pictures we can show you what we are doing and type less. 
Besides, blackboard is centered around academics. And we all know the academic world is full of long-winded professors and Florid writing. 
Not to say words are inutile, but we will take advantage of multi-media to help express our thoughts and ideas. 
But really, in this day and age who wants to read about something when they can just see it? So what can you expect to see on this blog?

we will update often (during the week of BbWorld)

Blogs that don't get updated often stink. They become stale like month old chips.

That's why we have a simple design, where each post is as simple as updating your twitter feed or Facebook status. You might interject, Facebook statuses are usually not as informative as blogs. We agree.

And hence our next reason to be a VIP blogger.

Why I want to be a VIP BbWorld blogger

Our names are Kelt and Kitty and we feel worthy enough to be a VIP BbWorld Blogger.

Oh, and in case you're wondering about the bow in the picture... 

... the answer is yes, we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little baby girl due in late August.  If you see us walking around feel free to say hi, but rubbing the tummy will cost ya.
